Milan Fashion Week: day 2

©ourtesy of The Fashion Fruit
The first Milan Fashion Week show of Day 2 was Max Mara. The main inspiration of the collection was Africa and safari style, filtered through the iconic style of the maison. The main items were safari jackets, trenches, jumpsuits and tuxedos. The colors passed from the warm shades like tan, beige, camel to more cold shades and deepest black. I really liked the mix of floral colors and military prints and the oversized tortoise sunglasses.

Paris '50s Glamour Style

Colorful With Dazzling Details Red-Carpet Preview?

 By CHRISTINA PASSARIELLO
Twice a year, during the haute couture collections, the French fashion industry contemplates an existential crisis: Is the tradition of hand-made dresses and suits costing hundreds of thousands of dollars still relevant?
Couture week in Paris—now whittled down to a mere three days—offered several ripostes this week, from fashion as art at Christian Dior to luxury jeans at Chanel and one-of-a-kind ostrich feather miniskirts from newcomer Maxime Simoëns.
Couture week raises the spectacle of runway shows to its highest form. This season, the catwalks were awash in sequins, pearls, crystals and even snaps embroidered on dresses. A chaste theme of minimal bare skin and below-the-knee looks ran throughout.
A New Wave of Color
There was also plenty of color, from hot pink at Gaultier Paris to ruby red at Armani Privé—a penchant that could herald a rainbow of hues on the Oscars' red carpet.

Rafael Nadal, strikes a pose for AMANI

When it comes to stopping traffic, Giorgio Armani has become quite the maestro with his steamy campaigns for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans — and his latest efforts for spring are likely to have drivers of both sexes slamming on their brakes once again. Megan Fox, who is also the face of Giorgio Armani Cosmetics, is reprising her role in the sultry black-and-white images shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. On the men’s side, the world’s number-one-ranked tennis player, Rafael Nadal, strikes a pose and shows a lot of skin in the underwear and jeans ads, also shot by Alas and Piggott. The ads will launch next month.
