Donatella Versace into snakeskin!

One of the coolest (and coldest blooded) trends to have slipped off the Autumn Winter runways was coloured snakeskin. Now queen of fashion, Donatella Versace, has gone for a controversial matchy-matchy accessories look by pairing her jacket to her holdall on a recent flight. To help water-proof our theory, here’s Anna Wintour in a bottle green snakeskin mac, making her way to the Burberry show at London Fashion Week. It’s all the rage this autumn. Chloe provided everything a girl could wish for in snakeskin – from floaty, snakeskin printed chiffon maxidresses to slinky rock n roll snakeskin blouses. Then, chez Gucci, snakeskin came in rich jewel colours, mainly in the form of outerwear like belted trenches and bikers. Then there was the super-feminine collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli at Valentino which was complemented by coloured python handbags and snakey knee-length boots. ‘Miu Miu’ at Paris Fashion Week

Fun motifs paired with well defined structural touches have made the spring 2012 Miu Miu collection memorable at this edition of the Fashion Week. Colorful yet fairly conservative, the collection brings several interesting touches that separate it from the style concepts presented at Prada. After the delightful women and engines themed collection presented by Prada at the Milan Fashion Week, fashion enthusiasts have had the chance to see the Miu Miu spring 2012 collection which maintains many of the same structural touches we have previously seen, yet comes with a whole new approach in terms of prints and color. Different, without being any less exciting, the line focuses on femininity with carefully placed accents that immediately attract attention. – – view more Highlights from Prada’s Miu Miu

Milan MENSWEAR June 2011 Collections

Edited by Antonella Ciancio, Reuters

MILAN – Fashion designers at the Milan menswear week opted for untied shirts, raffia hats and crocodile espadrilles for next summer to lighten up the wardrobes of men who dress to impress. Milan’s holiday-themed collections brought a whiff of fresh air into the fashion industry, which is undergoing an intense round of consolidation and bourse listings. Luxury groups Prada and Salvatore Ferragamo are aiming to raise as much as $2.67 billion in their initial public share offerings, or IPOs, this month. “It’s fantastic to see all these projects that are warming up the market. Investors’ interest shows that the fashion industry is growing,” Gianluca Brozzetti, Chief Executive of Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli, told Reuters. Trendsetter designer Miuccia Prada, back from a fashion show in Hong Kong for IPO investors, delivered in Milan a carefree collection inspired by golf courses, with ironic shirts in cartoon and floral prints playing with tailored suits. The fashion industry, a key contributor to Italy’s economy, is expected to generate 65 billion euros ($93 billion US) this year, according to Italy’s Chamber of Fashion, up 7% from 2010. At Ferragamo, designer Massimiliano Giornetti brought guests to the French Riviera for his laidback collection, with models in raffia panama hats and close-fitting suits in creamy colours. A scent of the Riviera also reached Ermenegildo Zegna, featuring crinkled silk jackets in muted bleached colours. ...See more Photos and Read more -- CLICK HERE
