Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2015 Collection

Palais at Monaco
The Palais Princier Monaco was the setting for the Louis Vuitton show (@drdidou66)

Today Nicolas Ghesquiere took the Louis Vuitton cruise collection to the catwalk for the very first time. For such a grand occasion, an equally grand backdrop was needed and with the world’s starriest of stars currently holding court in the French Riveira the Palais Princier Monaco was, naturally, the perfect location. When Ghesquiere showed his first collection for the legendary house during Paris Fashion Week in February, he certainly made his mark by showing his collection in a pared-back manner. And despite the swanky setting for the Cruise 2015 show, the same execution applied.

Samantha Cameron, Lana Del Rey at London Fashion Week

Samantha Cameron, Lana Del Ray, Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo are among the celebrities taking in London Fashion Week
It’s Presidents Day in the U.S., but fortunately we have London to satisfy our taste for fashion news. Starting at the top, Samantha Cameron, wife of British Prime Minister David Cameron, sat on the front row of Christopher Kane’s runway show Monday during London Fashion Week. She is her husband’s “ambassador” to the British Fashion Council. [Telegraph] Mulberry adopted singer Lana Del Rey for its showing, creating a bag named after her, sitting her front row at the runway and enticing her to sing at the brand’s party Sunday night. [The Cut] Plenty of other celebrities and socialites have been taking in the shows as well, including Olivia Palermo, Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof and singers Alexandra Burke and Kate Nash.  [Telegraph] So far, the designers in London seem to be showing more colorful clothes for fall than did the designers at New York Fashion Week. [The Cut] Top modeling agencies in Britain are prohibiting their models from using tanning beds, due to the risk factors for skin cancer — and wrinkles too. [Fashionista]  — by Susan Denley
