Pinterest Brands NYC Fashion Week


PINPinterest is becoming a major player in NYC’s Fashion Week.Today the social imaging network followed up on its exclusive for the J. Crew catalog by announcing a Pinterest Fashion Week hub, appearing at pinterest.com/fashionweek, where designers, brands, and style experts from the event will post exclusively on the show and upcoming fashion trends. Brand Innovators Fashion Brands Summit is also scheduled for Sept. 13, at the end of NYC Fashion Week.
The list of brands participating in the effort are high-profile and inclusive. Among them: Kate Spade, Man Repeller, Maybelline, Moda Operandi, Nordstrom, Oscar de la Renta, Refinery 29, Revlon, Song of Style, Style.com, Women’s Wear Daily, Zac Posen and Michael Kors.




“The launch of the Pinterest NYFW hub gives us another opportunity to bring inspiration from the runway in New York to women across the country,” said Lisa Pomerantz, Senior Vice President, Global Communications and Marketing, Michael Kors. “It’s important for Michael to be able to connect with his fans and customers. Our ‘Lights. Camera. Fashion!’ Pinterest board illustrates how Michael would dress a woman for New York’s fashion week: glamorous, sexy and daring.”

According to Katie Garlinghouse, head of community at Pinterest. More than two million fashion pins appear on Pinterest every day. On the Fashion Week hub, users will discover boards about the details inspiring the latest collections, suggestions on how to wear them, and behind-the-scenes access to some of the biggest shows.

Pinterest also has partnered exclusively with Style Network to bring Fashion Week inspiration to TV. Style Network will air “The ‘IT’ List: Top 10 Fall Trends” special that counts down the top 10 trends viewers will want to wear this Fall on Thursday, September 12 at 9pm ET/PT. The Pinterest integration will feature popular pinners and style bloggers showing people at home how to make the season’s latest trends come to life. Style will provide trend alerts on-air, detailing pins from fashion influencers and directing viewers to Pinterest. A “Just Pinned” feature will be embedded in the dedicated Fashion Week section on StyleNetwork.com which also links to the network’s Fashion Week Pinterest board.

Pinterest also announced that New York Fashion Week is just the start. In the coming weeks, Pinterest will be joining with participants from London, Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks to customize brand content and coverage from those events.
