Fashion might not be what Elizabeth Taylor is best known for -- that would be her eye-popping jewelry -- but it turns out the late, great Dame Elizabeth was as meticulous about preserving her couture gems as she was about her actual gems. Taylor, who died in March at age 79, assembled a vast collection of gewgaws and gowns over five decades; in December, Christie's will auction nearly 400 items of Taylor's fashion and accessories over two days beginning on Dec. 14 in New York.
